ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico football team’s latest commitments could mean that one of the Lobo starters
will have a battle on his hands next season.
Evan Jacobsen, a deep snapper from San Clemente (Calif.) who is ranked as the No. 1 prep snapper in the nation by Chris Rubio of Chris Sailer Kicking, has committed to the Lobos, according to Scout.com.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Jacobson, who brings the total number of UNM commitments to 13 for 2009, will battle sophomore Tim Lutz, who started last season for the Lobos. The Eldorado High School graduate played last season as a true freshman but struggled at times.
