ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Wyoming Cowgirls women’s basketball team scored 50 points in the second half alone, and they pulled away from the University of New Mexico on Tuesday night.
Wyoming (18-5, 8-2 Mountain West Conference) broke open what had been a close game against UNM (8-13, 2-7) in the latter stages of the second half for a 78-65 victory in Laramie, Wyo. The Cowgirls completed a season sweep of the Lobos. Wyoming led just 28-26 at halftime.
The Cowgirls’ Aubrey Vaniver scored a game-high 28 points; Jade Kennedy added a career-high 23 points and the duo combined to hit 13 3-pointers.
Jasmine Patterson scored 17 points to lead UNM.
