To make it 3-0, she might have to work a little overtime.
Kedzie (15-8) will meet Minnesota native Kaitlin Young (4-4) in the main event of the Jackson’s MMA Series IV, which will be held at the Hard Rock on April 9.
At stake is the series’ newly created women’s bantamweight (135-pound) title, making the bout a five-round affair instead of three.
The Jackson-Winkeljohn-trained fighter is looking forward to the opportunity.
“To fight for a belt within five rounds is an amazing dream for me. It’s a goal of mine. I want to be a champion,” she said.
“I want to challenge myself as a fighter in every way possible, and five rounds is definitely a step toward being the best in the world.”
The co-main event features Jackson-Winkeljohn’s Isaac Vallie-Flagg (10-3-1) against 5150 Fight Club’s Daniel Garcia (12-4) in a lightweight (155-pound) contest.
Also on the pro card is the MMA debut of professional boxer Jodie Esquibel, who will challenge Wyoming’s Alyx Luck (2-5) at 105 pounds.
The rest of the pro card includes Jackson-Winkeljohn’s Rocky Ramirez (2-1-1) vs. Silver City’s Matt Madrid (4-4) at 185 pounds and Jackson-Winkeljohn’s Kelly Renee (1-0) vs. Phoenix Fight Club’s Tsui-Jen Cunanan (0-0) at 125 pounds. Six amateur bouts round out the card.
