Lobos Get Hoops Commitment

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico men’s basketball team got its second verbal commitment for the 2012-13 season. The Journal has learned that Nick Banyard, a senior at Marcus High in Flower Mound, Texas, told Lobo coach Steve Alford he plans to sign a letter of intent next year.

Banyard, a 6-foot-8 power forward who was recruited by Lobo assistant Duane Broussard, took an official recruiting trip to UNM this past weekend.

Last week, 7-foot center Obij Aget, who played for the Indiana Elite AAU program, made a commitment to UNM for next year.
