New Mexico surpassed the 180,000-case mark after recording 571 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
Fourteen deaths were also reported in the afternoon update issued by state health officials.
The seven-day rolling averages are 439 cases and 18 deaths a day. This time last month, the averages were 1,304 cases and 23 deaths a day.
All but six of the 14 most recent deaths involved underlying conditions, state health officials said. The deceased ranged in age from their 40s to their 90s. Four of those who died were from Bernalillo County.
The majority of new cases were from Bernalillo County, which had 245. Meanwhile, Doña Ana County had 41 new cases, McKinley County had 32 and Chaves County had 25.
New Mexico has had 180,289 cases and 3,516 deaths from the virus since the pandemic began.
There were 341 people hospitalized with the virus across the state Saturday. That total may include people who tested positive out of state but are hospitalized in New Mexico.
As of Saturday, 118,926 cases have been designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
