UNM women’s basketball has no positive cases after latest round of COVID-19 tests

The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team received some good news Sunday when its latest round of COVID-19 tests came back with no positive results.

The Lobos remained in Fort Collins, Colorado, where they were scheduled to play a two-game series at Colorado State over the weekend. Those games were postponed Friday after one UNM player tested positive. That player had not yet been retested as of Sunday, coach Mike Bradbury said.

When the Lobos will play again has yet to be determined. The team’s Tier 1 travel party is due to be tested again Monday and will remain in Fort Collins for the next few days, Bradbury said.

UNM is set to play at Wyoming on Wednesday and Friday but it is unlikely the series will be played as scheduled. The Mountain West has not announced a postponement for the UNM-Wyoming series nor rescheduled dates for the UNM-Colorado State series.
