Prep soccer: St. Pius forward selected to HS All-American game

St. Pius senior forward Marcus Garcia has been selected to play in the 10th annual boys High School All-American Soccer Game in St. Louis, Missouri, the Journal learned Monday.

The game will be played May 29.

Garcia signed late last year to play for the University of Maryland.

The All-American Game will feature 45 of the country’s top players in an East-West matchup.
It was originally scheduled for December in Orlando, Florida, but was postponed. Technically, this will be considered the 2020 All-American Game.

Garcia is the only New Mexican on the West All-American roster, which is comprised only of seniors.
