The state reported an additional 411 COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths from the virus in an update Thursday afternoon.

The update marks the fifth straight day of fewer than 500 cases, the first such streak seen since October.

The rolling averages currently sit at 346 cases and 14 deaths a day. This time last month, they were 1,026 cases and 27 deaths a day.

Four of the 18 people whose deaths were reported Thursday were from Bernalillo County, and all but two had underlying conditions. The deceased ranged in age from their 40s to their 90s.

The majority of new cases came from Bernalillo County, with 125, and Doña Ana County, with 96. There were also 18 new cases among inmates at the Lea County Correctional Facility.

The state has seen a total of 181,739 COVID-19 cases and 3,580 deaths from the virus since the pandemic hit.

There are currently 284 people hospitalized with the virus across New Mexico; that number may include those who tested positive out of state but are hospitalized here.

So far, 126,446 coronavirus cases have been designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
