Talking Grammer, Ep. 39: UNM Lobo senior Makuach Maluach

Makuach Maluach (10), shown in action vs. Colorado State on March 2, 2019. (Roberto E. Rosales/Albuquerque Journal)

In Episode 39, I have a brief, but insightful conversation with Lobo wing Makuach Maluach.

Due to the state of New Mexico’s public health order, the senior from Australia is about to play his “Senior Night” game at the U.S. Air Force Academy for the Lobos final “home” game of the season — 400 miles north of the Pit, where he quietly etched his name deep into Lobo record books.

We talk about his future (will he come back with the NCAA not counting this season against player eligibility?), the past (the bond he formed with teammates in that 2017-18 freshman season), the time he asked Paul Weir on a recruiting call to call back because he was busy working, and a lot more.
Maluach is one of my favorite Lobos I’ve covered. Hope you enjoy the brief talk we had.
