New Mexico reported 245 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and 16 deaths.
Bernalillo County had the most new cases, with 101, followed by Doña County, with 44 cases, and Eddy County, with 25. The state has averaged 335 cases a day for the past week, according to a Journal analysis.
Those whose deaths were reported Sunday were nine men and seven women who ranged in age from their 50s to their 90s. Four of the dead were in their 50s, and four were in their 60s, according to a Department of Health news release.
New Mexico for the past week has averaged 13 COVID-related deaths a day. A total of 3,716 New Mexicans have died since the start of the pandemic.
On Sunday, 192 people throughout the state were hospitalized with COVID.
New Mexico has had a total of 185,132 confirmed COVID cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Health Department has classified 146,013 people as having recovered from the disease.
