Saturday: Albuquerque third baseman Alex Castellanos highlighted a 17-hit attack with two homers as the Isotopes beat the host Nashville Sounds 13-3.
Isotopes outfielder Jerry Sands went 4-for-6, with a homer, and Matt Angle was 3-for-5, with two runs scored, in the victory.
John Ely (10-7) got the pitching victory, working six innings and giving up six hits, three runs (two earned), with six strikeouts.
Nashville led 2-1 heading to the sixth before Albuquerque scored five runs.
Transactions: Stephen Fife was originally scheduled to start Friday night for the ‘Topes, but was called up by the parent Dodgers. He started Friday’s game against San Francisco and allowed one run on six hits in 6.1 innings in his second big league start, walking three and striking out two. He also got his first major league hit and scored a run. Fife had a no decision after the Giants rallied in the eighth to tie it 3-3. Former ‘Tope reliever Shawn Tolleson pitched the ninth to get his first major league win, 5-3.
