Sunday: Derrick Loop and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the ’Topes rolled to a 6-0 matinee win over New Orleans in front of 9,255 fans at Isotopes Park. Loop (11-3) was in command, allowing three hits and striking out four in 6 2/3 innings. Scott Rice and Erik Threets completed Albuquerque’s eighth shutout of the season — a franchise record.

The Isotopes took charge with four runs in the first inning. Josh Fields belted a solo home run, and Scott Van Slyke added a three-run shot. Van Slyke finished 3-for-4, as did Tony Gwynn Jr. for the ’Topes.

Transaction: The Dodgers optioned IF Elian Herrera back to Albuquerque. He’s expected to join the ’Topes in Memphis on Wednesday.

This and that: With six home games remaining, the ’Topes have set a franchise record for most home victories in a season. At 44-22 they have the best home record in the PCL.
