NM reports seven deaths, 218 COVID-19 cases

The New Mexico Department of Health reported 218 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths on Friday.

A total of 192,152 people have tested positive for the virus, and 173,981 are reported as recovered.

Friday’s update included 70 new cases in Bernalillo County, 29 in Doña Ana County and 22 in Sandoval County.

There are currently 94 people in New Mexico hospitalized with the virus.

A total of 3,949 people statewide have died from the disease.

The deaths announced Friday were a man in his 20s from McKinley County, a woman in her 70s from McKinley County, two women in their 70s from Bernalillo County, a man in his 80s from Bernalillo County, a man in his 80s from Eddy County and a woman in her 90s from Santa Fe County.

For those tracking the pandemic numbers, the state Health Department says it will not release daily COVID-19 reports or update the state vaccine dashboard on Saturday or Sunday, during the Easter weekend.

Updates will resume Monday.
