Rebecca Atkins, an Albuquerque police spokeswoman, said the crash occurred sometime before 3 p.m. at Carlisle and Ridgecrest SE.

She did not say how many vehicles were involved or how many people were injured but did say Carlisle was closed between Coal and Garfield.

Two wrecked vehicles could be seen at the intersection of Carlisle and Garfield. One was on its side in the front yard of a home and another was nearby against the curb with its hood smashed in.
