Joining the hoopsters are Rick Klatt (swimming, water polo 1970-74), Dr. Van Hill, DDS (tennis 1966-70) and the late William Dennard (football, track 1932-36).

A banquet will be Nov. 16 at the Crowne Plaza to honor the inductees.

Thomas and Adams led their respective basketball programs to postseason play in all four years.

Thomas (1995-99) is the leading rebounder and second-leading scorer in UNM men’s basketball history. He helped lead the Lobos to four straight second-round NCAA Tournament appearances.

Adams (1999-2003) was a part of two women’s NCAA Tournament teams, as well as two WNIT squads. She was named the Mountain West Conference tournament MVP in 2003, leading the Lobos to the league title and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

The inductees bring the number of Hall of Honor members to 138. This is the 26th class, which is approved by the UNM Alumni Lettermen’s Association.

In addition to the 2012 inductees, five others will be honored for their current achievements:

♦ Distinguished Service Award — Dave Binder (in his 16th year as UNM’s head athletic trainer)

♦ Coach of the Year — Jeremy Fishbein (men’s soccer)

♦ Male Athlete of the Year — Mitchell Garver (baseball)

♦ Male Athlete of the Year — Kendall Spencer (track and field)

♦ Female Athlete of the Year — Jael Fanning Clark (women’s soccer)
