Firefighters fought two separate small fires on Thursday afternoon along the river just west of Tingley Beach.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Ruiz said nobody was injured in either blaze and they are under investigation.
He said AFR responded around 5 p.m. to Tingley and Alcalde SW, for reports of smoke in the bosque. Firefighters found two fires, both smaller than an acre, near Tingley Beach on the east side of the river.
“The full Wildland Task Force was dispatched and were able to get both fires contained and under control,” Ruiz said.
