ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The preseason opinions of coaches and media that had UNLV, San Diego State and New Mexico as the three teams expected to compete for the Mountain West title haven’t really changed as league play approaches next week.
And that makes getting a chance to watch UNLV or San Diego State in the Pit pretty much the hottest ticket in town for Lobos fans.
UNM open Mountain West Conference play on Wednesday night at 8:15 in the Pit against UNLV.
If you don’t already have a ticket, you’re out of luck for lower bowl seating and almost out of luck if you want one of the club-level seats that remain. As of Thursday afternoon, there were just 39 club-level seats remaining at $100 apiece to watch the Rebels game. Lower bowl seating has been sold out since early to mid-December.
The ticket won’t be much easier to get down the road for the Feb. 27 home game in the Pit against San Diego State – yes, nearly eight weeks away. As of Thursday that game had just 29 single seats available in the lower bowl and 169 club-level seats.
Since the start of the season, several game times have been adjusted – many just by 15 minutes here or there – to be more flexible with television broadcasts. To see the entire UNM Lobos schedule, including past results and links to all past game stories, CLICK HERE.
