UNM holds first commencement ceremony since 2019

In what was the University of New Mexico’s first in-person graduation ceremony since December 2019 – due to the pandemic – students filled University Stadium in Albuquerque on Saturday for the school’s 2021 Spring Commencement.

The event was limited to those graduating and was livestreamed on social media and through the UNM website.

According to UNM, nearly 3,100 students were projected to receive degrees from UNM’s Albuquerque and extended campuses: 2,230 bachelor’s degrees, 492 master’s degrees, 67 doctorates, 91 juris doctorates, 79 medical doctorates, 66 pharmacy doctorates, 71 graduate certificates and two education specialists.
