ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Harvard Crimson visited the Pit last season in the NCAA Tournament. This season they will take on the Pit’s tenants.

Harvard, which won its third straight Ivy League title and is 19-9 this season, will face New Mexico on Thursday in Salt Lake City.

Freshman guard Siyani Chambers (12.9, 5.8 assists) is the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and joined 6-5 sophomore Wesley Saunders (16.5 points, 4.1 rebounds) on the all-conference first team. The Crimson also feature junior co-captain Laurent Rivard (10.4 points, 84.4 free throw percentage) and 6-7 sophomore forward Steve Moundou-Missi (7.9 points, 5.9 rebounds).

Harvard averages 68.9 points a game, while allowing 69.1. It shoots 48.2 percent from the field, 40.1 from 3-point range and 72 percent at the line. It averages 13.2 assists, 13.5 turnovers, 7.4 steals, 4.4 blocks and 29.4 rebounds a game.

The Crimson are coached by Tommy Amaker, who was a four-year starting point guard at Duke, helping the Blue Devils reach the NCAA Tournament four times. He led Duke to the 1986 NCAA championship game as part of a 37-3 season.
