ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Folks who sit in sections 19 (men’s games) and 7 (women’s games) know Albuquerque attorney Rudy Chavez as the guy who berates officials non-stop at high volume throughout Lobo basketball games.
Now, Chavez has put his money where his loud mouth is: an estate gift of half a million dollars for UNM athletics — essentially, remembering the Lobos in his will.
Whether one likes or doesn’t like Rudy’s act at games — put me emphatically in the don’t-like category — give the man credit. There now are half a million reasons to call him the Lobos’ No. 1 fan.
