Walker, UNM shut out Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. — Josh Walker (9-0) pitched a three-hit shutout in his first start of the season, and the 16th-ranked University of New Mexico baseball team won its 13th consecutive Mountain West Conference game, 9-0 over host Fresno State on Friday. UNM (31-17, 21-4) got home runs from D.J. Peterson, Alex Real and Alex Allbritton among its 12 hits. Josh Melendez went 0-for-4 and had his hitting streak snapped at 26 games.

The Lobos and Bulldogs (17-30, 10-15) meet again today at 7:35 p.m.

James, Miami win Game 3 at Chicago

CHICAGO — LeBron James came on strong down the stretch to finish with 25 points, Chris Bosh added 20 points and 19 rebounds, and the Miami Heat followed up the most lopsided playoff win in franchise history with a 104-94 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

SPURS 102, WARRIORS 92: In Oakland, Calif., Tony Parker scored 25 of his 32 points in a sizzling first half, Tim Duncan added 23 points and 10 rebounds and San Antonio quieted hot-shooting Golden State to take a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference semis.

UNM women 2nd, men 3rd at MWCs

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The University of New Mexico women are in second place and the men are in third heading into the final sessions of the Mountain West Conference track and field championships today.

The Lobo men got wins on Friday from Luke Caldwell in the 10,000 in 30 minutes, 27.71 seconds, Elmar Engholm in the steeplechase (8:59.16), Kendall Spencer in the long jump (24-6 1/2), and Django Lovett in the high jump (7- 1/2).

Leafs top Boston, avoid elimination

BOSTON — Tyler Bozak and Clarke MacArthur scored and James Reimer stopped 43 shots Friday night to help the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Boston Bruins 2-1 and stay alive in their first-round playoff series.

KINGS 2, BLUES 1: In Los Angeles, Dustin Penner scored the tiebreaking goal in the final second of the second period, and the host Kings advanced to the second round.

RED WINGS 4, DUCKS 3 (OT): In Detroit, Henrik Zetterberg scored his second goal 1:04 into overtime, helping Detroit force a Game 7 in their first-round series on Sunday in Anaheim.

CAPITALS 2, RANGERS 1 (OT): In Washington, Mike Ribeiro scored 9:24 into overtime, and the host Capitals beat the New York to take a 3-2 lead in their first-round playoff series.

Busch brothers are fast at Darlington

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Kyle Busch took the lead from Joey Logano 18 laps from the end Friday night to win his fifth series race this season and second in three years at Darlington Raceway.
