DF Fabulous Jackie, a 3-year-old filly, broke on top and never looked back to win the second race and was clocked with the fastest time of the day of 17.573 seconds for 350 yards on Sunday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
The win was during trials for the $96,968 Ruidoso Maiden Stakes. There was a 12 mph headwind on a mostly sunny day.
The Maiden Stakes is designed for Quarter Horses that were maidens up to and through March 1 of this year.
The filly paid $6.00, $3.60 and $2.80 as the 2-1 betting favorite. She was bred in Oklahoma by Darling Farms.

Racing continues at Ruidoso Downs next weekend with the running of the first leg of the Quarter Horse Triple Crown, the $1 Million Ruidoso Futurity on Sunday. Saturday’s card features the Ruidoso Derby for 3-year-olds.
