Monday's NBA Summer League update for former Lobos

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Former Lobo Tony Snell keeps winning in the Thomas & Mack Center.

Monday night, the Chicago Bulls first-round draft pick scored 11 points, including going 7-of-9 from the free throw line, in a 93-81 win over the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Monday’s game was played in the Thomas & Mack Center, home of the UNLV Running Rebels and site of Snell’s breakout Mountain West Conference Tournament MVP performance in March when UNM won its second-consecutive league title with three wins on the same court. In Saturday’s Summer League debut for Snell, the Bulls beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the adjacent Cox Pavilion.

Snell’s Bulls teammate Malcolm Thomas, another former MWC player who went to San Diego State, set a summer league record with 22 rebounds in the game.

Also on Monday night, former Lobo Drew Gordon had a team-high six rebounds for the Sacramento Kings in an 80-66 NBA Summer League loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Gordon, who started the game, also had two points and one blocked shot in 19 minutes of play.
