ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Bernalillo County is closing lanes on Alameda west of Rio Grande on Tuesday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide for safe pruning of cottonwood trees on the median.
The work also is expected to clear the line of sight for streetlights at the intersection of Alameda and Rio Grande, according to a news release.
“This is strictly a pruning by professional arborists and no trees are being removed,” said Enrico Gradi, deputy county manager for community services, in a statement. “We want to give motorists a heads-up and also provide peace of mind for everyone encountering the operation in progress who cares for these beautiful trees as much as we do.”
Motorists in the area can expect minor traffic delays through the area
