Homewise receives $1.8M federal grant

A $1.8 million federal grant for New Mexico’s Homewise Inc., will help finance home purchase, home improvement and home refinancing loans for modest-incomes households in the state, according to a news release.

The grant was awarded via the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution Rapid Response Program, which was designed to allow the federal government to quickly disburse money into communities in need.

Homewise provides a number of services, including affordable mortgage lending and down payment assistance, loan servicing, refinance and home improvement lending, financial literacy education and coaching and real estate services. For more information, visit www.homewise.org.
