Witnesses: motorcyclist ran red light before fatal crash Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Jefferson NE on Thursday morning.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, a Harley-Davidson was going north on Jefferson when it hit a Toyota Tacoma truck that was exiting from westbound Paseo del Norte to go south on Jefferson.

“Those who stopped for the red light for northbound traffic, said the motorcycle passed them and failed to stop for the red light at Paseo,” police said.

People at the scene said the motorcycle did not appear to be speeding.

Police did not identify the person killed.

Albuquerque police shut down part of Jefferson as they investigated the crash.
