A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Saturday morning on the West Side.
The crash took place around 2 a.m. near 98th and Tower SW, Albuquerque Police spokeswoman Rebecca Atkins said. She said the motorcyclist was heading north on 98th from Tower when the bike T-boned a four-door sedan as it turned east toward Demi SW.
Atkins said the motorcyclist was ejected. He was not wearing helmet, received significant head trauma and died at the hospital.
Those in the sedan remained at the scene and gave their statements to an officer.
“At this point it does not appear that alcohol was a factor…it does appear speed from the motorcycle and improper driving was a factor for the crash,” she said.
