“Roswell, New Mexico” is back again.
The CW hit series returns to New Mexico to film a fourth season. The third season is currently airing on The CW.
According to the New Mexico Film Office, the production will film in Española, Moriarty, Bernalillo, Las Vegas, Pecos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and San Felipe and Santo Domingo pueblos. It will film through January 2022.
Amber Dodson, New Mexico Film Office director, said productions such as this long-running series, helps keep the film industry strong.
” ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ has become one of those projects that is quintessential New Mexico,” Dodson said. “The television series not only puts the state’s name out there, but also captures the stunning landscapes our state offers, employs thousands of New Mexicans and sources thousands of dollars of goods and services from local businesses, in addition to creating a mutual fandom.”
“Roswell, New Mexico” tells the story of Liz Ortecho, who returns to Roswell. She reconnects with Max Evans, her teenage crush, who is now a Roswell police officer. However, Ortecho soon discovers a shocking truth: Evans is an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life, along with those of his otherworldly sister Isobel and their friend Michael.
The series is from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Amblin Television and Bender Brown Productions with executive producers Christopher Hollier, Julie Plec, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, Lawrence Bender and Kevin Kelly Brown.
The show’s stars include Jeanine Mason, Nathan Dean, Michael Vlamis, Lily Cowles, Tyler Blackburn, Heather Hemmens, Michael Trevino and Amber Midthunder.
“As we embark on our fourth season, New Mexico has become a critical character of the show,” Hollier said. “We are fortunate to have a great local crew, stunning locations, and the support of the New Mexico Film Office.”
According to the Dodson, the production will employ approximately 400 New Mexico crew members and 2,100 New Mexico background and extras.
