Breaking at 8:25am — Multiple Accidents Causing Commuter Mess

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Rollover on southbound I-25 near Gibson close to being cleaned up, police say.

A semi-truck rolled over on southbound Interstate 25 near Gibson at 7:10 this morning, reducing traffic to just one lane, but no one was injured and crash cleanup is almost done, police tell the Journal's T.J. Wilham this morning.

Another wreck involving several vehicles that occurred around 7 in the construction zone near the Washington Street Overpass on eastbound Interstate 40 also is in the cleanup stage, police tell Wilham. There were minor injuries in that accident.

There's another wreck involving a bus and a car on southbound I-25 at Cesar Chavez, and several others are being reported around town, including one at Coors and Montano, a new wreck at 4th and Bridge, another at 2nd Street south of Paseo del Norte, on northbound Golf Course near Paradise Boulevard and one close by on eastbound Irving near Golf Course, according to 770 KKOB Radio's traffic reporter Helen Wheels.

Alternate routes are close to gridlock, according to Wheels.

Use extreme caution — and patience — if you're stuck in the backed-up traffic. There's definitely something going around this morning.
