Hartford Square, salt of the earth

I READ ANDREA Lin’s dining review in the July 26 Albuquerque Journal with a “grain of salt.”

Hartford Square is a delightful addition to the Albuquerque restaurant scene. I recently had lunch there – as evidenced in the photo taken by Dean Hanson of the Journal.

Hartford Square with “seasonally fresh items” was unfairly rated by Lin at 3.5 stars because of one issue according to her. Most of the foods Lin has tried are under-seasoned.

“Each dish multiplied in flavor with a gentle shake of salt,” she wrote.

Lin is correct to say there is an easy remedy for this issue – add salt to your liking. There are no options when the cook adds the salt for you.

Most diets today contain so much salt it is killing us. Experts state salt has been linked to several medical issues, including increased blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and kidney problems.

Hartford Square’s food is not processed, and the ingredients come from local producers. The restaurant serves fresh, local food that will keep your taste buds anticipating the very next bite.

If what you want is a healthy, delicious food experience, try Hartford Square. It truly is a four star restaurant!
