Woman fatally struck by semi in ABQ hit-and-run

A woman was run over by a semi-tractor trailer Thursday morning along Interstate 40 in Albuquerque.

Rebecca Atkins, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said the woman died at the scene.

“The identity of that semi is unknown at this time,” she said. “It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor due to this being a hit and run crash.”

Atkins said police responded to the crash after 4 a.m. along Fourth Street on-ramp to westbound I-40. She said the driver of the semi kept heading westbound on I-40.
