Talking Grammer, Ep. 45: UNM Football coach Danny Gonzales

UNM football coach Danny Gonzales is about to enter season two running the Lobos program, but his first doing so with home games in Albuquerque. He sat down with the Journal’s Geoff Grammer for a podcast interview ahead of the 2021 season. (Roberto E. Rosales/Albuquerque Journal)
In Episode 45 of the Talking Grammer podcast, I caught up with second year Lobo football coach Danny Gonzales ahead of his program’s 2021 season in an interview that has less to do with X’s and O’s and more to do with his growing up in Albuquerque, his role in the Athletic Department beyond coaching football and, yes, even his sensitive side.

From his memories of Dukes baseball and Lobo basketball growing up to the split personalities he shows on the sidelines vs. at home with his family, we cover a lot of ground.
