After 15 years at the head of the Economic Forum of Albuquerque, Executive Director Bob Murphy is planning to retire at the end of 2021.
“Economic Forum has been an incredible experience for me,” Murphy said in a prepared statement. “I will miss my many friends and colleagues and our various programs and initiatives to make Albuquerque a better place for all.”
Economic Forum was founded in 1982. The organization is funded entirely by membership dues and is dedicated to the continued improvement of the regional economy, a news release said. Its efforts involve educating and informing key decision-makers from the business, government and education sectors about relevant issues facing the community.
The invitation-only organization currently has around 100 full members, though its events are regularly attended by many non-members as well.
The Economic Forum board has formed a committee and will begin an executive search for Murphy’s replacement in late September, the release said.
