ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Semi carrying potatoes overturns on southbound ramp of I-25, stalling traffic.
UPDATE: The flyover from southbound I-25 to eastbound I-40 reopened around 11:30 a.m., KOB-TV reported.
This morning's rollover is the fifth such accident on the Big I in five months, Eyewitness News 4 reported.
7:10am UPDATE: Flyover on southbound I-25 to eastbound I-40 is expected to be shut for quite some time, 770 KKOB Radio's traffic reporter Helen Wheels reports. She recommends drivers use the frontage road to get onto eastbound I-40 by exiting at or before the Comanche exit on I-25.
According to a report on KOAT-TV, the driver of the overturned truck was trapped inside the vehicle but was extricated after a short time and was reported not to have been seriously injured.
A semi truck carrying a load of potatoes has overturned on the southbound ramp of Interstate 25 leading onto eastbound Interstate 40 at the Big I, and because of a diesel spill, it's being treated as a hazmat situation, KOB-TV is reporting.
The southbound I-25 ramp is closed, and drivers will need to find alternate routes, Eyewitness News 4 is reporting. The westbound ramp from I-25 was closed briefly but reopened minutes ago following the rollover that occurred around 6 this morning.
No injuries reported so far.
