9:10am — L.C. Toddler Run Over by Pickup Truck

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three-year-old listed in critical but stable condition at an El Paso hospital.

Three-year-old Olga Morales was struck by a pickup truck around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and was taken to MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces before being airlifted to Thomason Hospital in El Paso, where she was reported Monday to be in critical but stable condition, the Las Cruces Sun-News and El Paso television station KVIA reported.

According to an accident report, the toddler ran out of her home in a mobile home park on Dona Ana Road, apparently trying to follow her older sister across the road, when she ran into the path of a 1998 Ford pickup driven by 22-year-old Armando Villasenor, the Sun-News reported.

The police report indicates that Villasenor was driving at about 5 to 6 mph through the mobile home park when the accident occurred and that the little girl was hit by the truck's right front bumper and run over by both tires on the right side, the Sun-News said.
