A two-vehicle crash left six people injured, four of them critically, Tuesday afternoon in Northeast Albuquerque.
Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at Montgomery and Tramway.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Ruiz said firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free two people who were trapped in the vehicle “due to the severity and amount of damage.”
Six people were taken to the hospital and four are currently in critical condition.
Gallegos said northbound Tramway is shut down at Montgomery as police investigate.
“More details will be released as they are available,” he said.
