SANTA FE (AP) — New Mexico State Police are investigating a 14-year-old Santa Fe girl’s death at a weekend party concert at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that Hannah Bruch died while en route to a hospital after a security guard found her unresponsive shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

State Police Sgt. Emmanuel Gutierrez says an autopsy is pending but he says there’s no initial indication of foul play.

Larry Bruch says he’s heard rumors about drug experimentation and suspects his daughter died from “peer pressure and drugs,” not natural causes.

Expo New Mexico spokesman Michael Henningsen says he doesn’t know how the girl was able to enter the 16-and-over event.

Security guards were supposed to check IDs.

The event, which drew an estimated 4,000 people, was billed as being open to those 16 years and older and 21 and older to drink, according to News 13.

Event organizers promised a storm of foam from the world’s largest foam cannon as teens and adults gathered at the late-night party at Expo New Mexico’s Villa Hispana, KRQE said.

The fairgrounds have hosted similar events before, but Expo spokesman Michael Henningsen told News 13 that alcohol and underage concertgoers may no longer be a welcome combination at the fairgrounds.

“We’re looking closely at whether or not we want to serve alcohol at those events, and I think the direction we want to go is probably not,” Henningsen said.

State Police told KRQE that an autopsy likely will be conducted to determine how Bruch died.
