Trial in fatal NM Burger King shooting to begin

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) — The trial of a man connected to the shooting death of a woman outside a busy Alamogordo Burger King is set to begin.

Testimony is scheduled to start Tuesday in Alamogordo District Court in the case involving Jonathan Montoya for the 2011 death of 33-year-old Shavon Twitty.

Mathis pleaded no contest in May to second-degree felony murder for her involvement in the fatal shooting.
