The competition show pits three doughnut-making pros against one another in challenges based on mystery ingredients and themes.
A $10,000 winner is named at the end of each episode.
Rebel Donut owner Carrie Mettling competed on the show with an assist from her store manager Marcy Marquez.
Mettling’s episode — which has a “carnival” theme — is set to air at 8 tonight on the Cooking Channel. (In Albuquerque, that’s Channel 122 for Comcast subscribers and 232 on DIRECTV. Check other providers here.)
The episode was filmed late last year in Toronto, Canada, but Mettling said she could not reveal the outcome until the show’s American debut tonight.
Though she couldn’t discuss the results, Mettling described the experience as “nerve-wracking.”
“I’ve just been telling people it’s as stressful as it looks,” Mettling told the Journal Wednesday afternoon. “We get beeped a lot because we were swearing a lot.”
Mettling opened the first Rebel Donut last year at 2435 Wyoming. She has since added a West Side location and Downtown satellite store.
