SANTA FE, N.M. — Some 740 acres of the Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge will be open to mourning dove hunting from Sept. 1-30, but hunters will need a permit.
Starting Wednesday, permits can be obtained at the refuge visitor center during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
A $5 user fee must be paid in cash upon receipt of each permit. No personal checks will be accepted. All hunters must also have a valid New Mexico hunting license.
