The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced this week that New Mexico will receive $26.7 million in water infrastructure funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The money was awarded to the New Mexico Environment Department and the state Finance Authority, who will distribute the funds as grants and loans.

Projects eligible for the money include municipal wastewater systems, drinking water treatment plants, storage tanks, water distribution and green infrastructure projects.
