With the holidays right around the corner, it is almost time to finalize those shopping lists.

Of course, in today’s technological driven world, there’s always room for a high-tech gadget or a big purchase for the home.

One place you could check is Baillio’s, located at 5301 Menaul NE, for all of your holiday needs.

“We have got major promotions from all of our major vendors and there are up to $1,100 rebates on full kitchen appliance packages, and up to $500 rebates on TVs and sound bars,” said Mike Baca, director of purchasing. “We also have internal promotions and savings of $800 to $1,000 on our bedding products that we sell so pretty much every category that we have, there’s stuff already going on.”

Baillio’s started their deals on Nov. 2 with offers such as a free set of Tempur-Pedic pillows with any Tempur-Pedic mattress purchase and a free weighted blanket and set of convolution pillows with a purchase of Dreamspot, Sealy, Stearns & Foster & Simmons Mattresses.

“There is really no Black Friday stuff anymore, as it is pretty much Black November with the way that everything shifted over the last few years,” Baca said.

Big TVs

This holiday season, flatscreen TVs are one of the popular purchases to gift.

“During this time for us it is usually large TVs as they are becoming more and more popular as 75-inch TVs and larger are hot commodities,” Baca said. “Appliances are gaining a little bit more traction during the holiday season and it never used to be like that. We are gonna be really dabbling in everything as we have your small TV, 32-inch TVs, that you can get at $199.”

Baillio’s is also having an Electrolux event that runs through Dec. 31.

Electrolux 36-inch Induction Cooktops are starting at $1,900 with a $400 rebate and an Electrolux 30-inch Induction Cooktop starting at $2,200.

“The biggest deal right now we’ve got is where you can save $800 on package appliances right now at the store,” Baca said.

For many New Mexicans, Baillio’s is an essential part of holiday shopping.

“A lot of it has to do with popularity in our culture that we’ve been around since 1966 and we have one of the tallest buildings right in the middle of the city,” Baca said. “So our family-owned store has been a destination store for electronics for many, many years.”

Baca said right when you walk in, you feel at ease.

“You walk in our store and we have put it together so that you can kind of imagine what it would look like in your home,” Baca said. “Our bedding area we’ve got some bedding rooms that are very private for people to come in and make a good selection.”

Early sales

Another place to get some holiday shopping in is Conn’s HomePlus located at 10000 Coors Bypass NW in the Cottonwood Mall.

“Right now for appliances going up to 15% off on appliance packages and I have some of the furniture sets up to 50% off,” said Carla Perez, Conn’s manager. “I have anything starting from $200 if you are looking at laptops, I mean, we sell the monitors themselves and the actual towers as well so they will vary in price point, depending on what you are trying to get.”

Conn’s started their holiday sales early this season.

“As far as Black Friday, we actually started our sales early so those are already going on and we may have a few more coming closer to it as far as pricing goes,” Perez said. “But major savings and stuff like that will be will be about the same.”

Conn’s is a great location for anybody purchasing gifts for teens or young adults.

“We offer laptops, electronics like the Nintendo Switches and we do the PlayStation Five and the Xboxes on and off,” Perez said. “Then we also have a variety of toys for kids as well through our online system so we can get those shipped directly, but essentially, there’s all kinds of kids’ toys that we can add on there like electrical cars and playhouses.”

Currently, the Nintendo Switch gaming bundle comes with Metroid Dread and headphones for $297 at Conn’s.

“I have price points as little as 44 bucks on the laptop. So we have low price points and then obviously if you are looking at more of the gaming ones, or we’re looking to $2,000,” Perez said.

The Acer Predator Orion 3000 Gaming Desktop is currently selling for $1,900, after previously being sold for $2,400.
