Traffic was closed in Southwest Albuquerque for parts of the day Sunday when the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was in a standoff with an armed suspect, according to police.
The agency closed La Vega SW in both directions between Arthur and Riverside SW due to an active SWAT situation, according to a social media alert from the sheriff’s office.
The SWAT team was activated for an “armed barricaded subject,” the alert said.
No other details have been released.
