ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The National Nuclear Security Administration hopes to release its draft supplemental environmental study of a proposed Los Alamos plutonium lab tomorrow.
There is still some uncertainty about when it will actually emerge into public view, but the NNSA’s NEPA Reading Room is the place to look if you, like I, plan to be obsessing all day and hitting reload every five minutes in search of the latest.
This is the study that’s tangled up in litigation over the adequacy of environmental reviews for the project, a proposed multi-billion dollar plutonium lab complex. There’s also a hearing scheduled next week in federal court on the suit, brought by the Los Alamos Study Group, over the project. Lots of background on the project, including affidavits from parties on both sides, on the LASG lawsuit page.
