The Screen Actors Guild announced its nominations on Wednesday.
New Mexico-filmed “Better Call Saul” was able to garner three nominations for its final season.
The first is for Ensemble in a Drama Series. In this category, “Saul” will face off against “The Crown,” “Ozark,” “Severance” and “The White Lotus.”
Meanwhile Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks were both nominated in Actor in a Drama Series.
The two will compete against each other for the first time. They are nominated alongside Jason Bateman for “Ozark,” Jeff Bridges for “The Old Man” and Adam Scott for “Severance.”
Patrick Fabian, who plays Howard Hamlin on the series, tweeted on Wednesday, “Thank you @SAGawards for the #OutstandingEnsemble nomination. #BetterCallSaul #SagAwards.”
Odenkirk replied in a tweet, “I just want an exciting have dinner with you guys.”
From the cartel to the courthouse, from Albuquerque to Omaha, the final season tracked Jimmy, Saul and Gene as well as Jimmy’s complex relationship with Kim, played by Rhea Seehorn, who is in the midst of her own existential crisis.
Meanwhile, Mike, played by Banks, Gus, played by Giancarlo Esposito, Nacho, played by Michael Mando and Lalo, played by Tony Dalton, are locked into a game of cat and mouse with mortal stakes.
The series called Albuquerque home since it started production in 2014. It is produced by AMC and Sony Pictures Television.
The stunt ensemble for “Stranger Things” was also given a nomination. It will compete against the stunt ensembles for “Andor,” “The Boys,” “House of the Dragon” and “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”
“House of the Dragon” is based off of Santa Fe resident George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” series.
The SAG Awards will be handed out on Feb. 26.
