Detectives were called to a fatal shooting in Southeast Albuquerque early Saturday morning and, hours later, a person’s body found in a field on the West Side.
Both incidents are being investigated as homicides.
Chase Jewell, an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman, said officers were called around 4 a.m. to a shooting near Dallas and Bell SE, south of Zuni.
“Officers located one individual who had succumbed to a gunshot wound on scene,” Jewell said.
Then, Saturday afternoon, another call-out.
Gilbert Gallegos, another APD spokesman, said officers were called sometimes before 3:45 p.m. to reports of a body in a field northwest of the Flying J Travel Center on 98th Street, south of Interstate 40.
No other information was immediately provided.
