Sports Speak Up! More comments on Lobos’ Boise State win, ‘All-Access’ production

AWESOME WIN for the Lobos on Friday vs. Boise State! Great play, great crowd! Had a barrel of laughs listening to the former coach now TV announcer, delivering his arsenal of similes and metaphors during the game. He churned out the comparisons faster than a ‘Burque food truck vendor cranking out frito pies. Despite a few worn out cliches he was worth his weight in gold. … And what a drawl to top it off! Overall, much more entertaining than the gimmicky coach’s full live access couple nights before. Go Lobos and more appearances by the announcer coach!

I ENJOYED THE FS1 mic’d up game. Anything’s better than listening to Portnoy anytime UNM has a positive play.

— Davario

WHAT’S WORSE: Seeing Jerry Jones 20-30 times a game or the color (?) announcer for the Lobos game that was in love with Rice?

— da Don, ABQ

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the “all-access” UNM-San Jose State broadcast. Great insight into game strategy and a window into coach-player interaction adds to the game. Plus, no commercials!

— Andy A

I SO MUCH want Danny Gonzales to succeed at UNM but transfer portal figures in Saturday’s Journal, plus a meager recruiting class are really discouraging. A net loss of 3 times the gains leaves the roster very thin. Hopefully the coaching shakeup will yield results, but it’s not looking good so far.

— Bob, UNM Area
