New Mexico vs. Nevada is not only a battle between top teams in the Mountain West Conference, it’s also one of the top match-ups in college basketball. Both teams sit in the top 35 of the NCAA’s NET rankings.
And, after a pair of wins last week, the Lobos (18-2, 5-2 Mountain West) checked in at No. 25 in Monday’s new Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Nevada (15-5, 5-2) is not ranked, but is 2.5-point favorites heading into the game in Reno. Former Lobos head coach Steve Alford coaches the Wolf Pack.
