The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court will be sharing the love when judges perform Valentine’s Day weddings for the public.
The long-standing tradition is now in its 23rd year. The weddings will all take place via Zoom on Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no fee for the service.
“One of the benefits of holding marriage ceremonies online is that family and friends who may not otherwise be able to attend can easily join via the virtual platform,” said Presiding Civil Division Judge Frank A. Sedillo.
Appointments are required in advance by calling 505-841-8287, and couples must obtain a marriage license beforehand from the County Clerk’s Office. Two witnesses must be physically present with the couple to sign the marriage license after the ceremony.
Information on how to obtain a marriage license is available from the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office, 505-468-1243, or visiting the marriage license link on the county’s website at www.bernco.gov.
