2 teens shot, 1 killed, in Southwest Albuquerque shooting

Detectives are looking for suspects who fled a late Friday night shooting that left a 15-year-old dead and a 14-year-old critically injured in Southwest Albuquerque.

Jayme Fuller-Gonzales, a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said the assailants fled in a “dark-colored four-door sedan” from the area of Atrisco Vista near Central.

Fuller-Gonzales did not respond to questions on the incident Saturday. She did not give the gender of, or identify the teen who was killed, or the one who was injured.

She said deputies were dispatched around 10:50 p.m. to reports of shooting in the 200 block of Atrisco Vista SW, just south of Central.

Fuller-Gonzales said deputies found a 15-year-old who died at the scene and a 14-year-old who was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition.

She said both had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

“The unidentified suspects fled the area in a dark-colored four-door sedan,” she said.

Fuller-Gonzales said BCSO’s Violent Crimes and Homicide detectives are investigating the case and asked anyone with information to email violentcrimes@bernco.gov.
